Survey Data Analysis Using Stata

Data from complex samples, sometimes called survey data, include multi-stage sampling designs, stratified sampling, and unequal probability of selection. In this course we will discuss how to properly incorporate information on design features into analyses in Stata.

We will begin by reviewing the sampling methods used to collect survey data, and discusses how to incorporate design information into the estimation of totals, ratios, and regression coefficients. Methods of computing standard errors available in Stata will also be discussed. We will also cover strata with a single sampling unit, certainty sampling units, subpopulation estimation, and poststratification. This workshop will incorporate extensive worked examples in Stata.
