The Fall Enrollment Survey was sent to the universe of accredited and to all non-accredited institutions offering a bachelor's, master's, doctor's or first-professional degree. Additional enrollment data was collected from the remaining non-accredited institutions via the Consolidated Survey. The Consolidated Survey was sent to all remaining non-accredited 4-year, 2-but-less-than-4-year, and public less-than-2-year institutions and to a sample of private less-than-2-year schools.

2003-07-25 ICPSR data undergo a confidentiality review and are altered when necessary to limit the risk of disclosure. ICPSR also routinely creates ready-to-go data files along with setups in the major statistical software formats as well as standard codebooks to accompany the data. In addition to these procedures, ICPSR performed the following processing steps for this data collection:

  • Checked for undocumented or out-of-range codes.

  • Data in this collection are available only to users at ICPSR member institutions.

  • The citation of this study may have changed due to the new version control system that has been implemented.
