This collection focuses on attitudes toward and knowledge of the social conditions, abilities, and personalities of elderly persons. Additionally, these data describe how social background characteristics, such as age, sex, profession, and living conditions, influence attitudes toward the elderly.

These data, provided by the Swedish Social Science Data Service, are available only for use in academic research within the United States and Canada.
Sample
(1) Randomly selected sample drawn from the register of total population, (2) sample drawn from the register of employees of the Swedish County Councils Association, and (3) sample of employees in municipal social services in Uppsala, Sandviken, Ystad, Gatland, Saeffa, and Goteborg.
Universe
(1) Swedish citizens aged 15-75 years, and employees working in the care of the aged in (2) County Councils and (3) municipal social services.
