Gross in- and out-migration statisitcs are provided in this file for each county (or county equivalent) in the United States. Migrant data are stratified by age, race, and sex. Included for each race/sex/age group are data on college attendance, military status, group quarters status, residence abroad in 1975, and total population. Data on country of birth are listed for race/sex strata.

The in- and out-migration data for each county are presented in the form of two "tables." Table 1 contains 48 cells of seven characters each, and Table 2 contains 1,296 cells of six characters each.

Migration data were derived from information on residence in 1975 and 1980 provided on the 1980 Census questionnaire. Population and residence data for 1975 are based on approximately one-half of the full census sample.
