Consolidated Federal Funds Report (CFFR) Series

Investigator(s): U.S. Dept. of Commerce, U.S. Bureau of the Census

This series, prepared annually by the United States Bureau of the Census, is part of a series of reports on the geographic distribution of federal spending. The CFFR data are obtained from numerous federal government agencies and describe federal government expenditures or obligations in state, county, and subcounty areas of the United States, the District of Columbia, and United States territories. The first edition of the CFFR was published in fiscal year 1983. The series began with three types of files in each annual collection: the CFFR Data File, the Geographic Reference File, and the Program Identification File. In 1994, the Geographic Reference File was discontinued and some of its variables were added to the main CFFR Data File. The CFFR Federal Agency File was added to the collection beginning with the 1993 data.
