[SAMHDA] Updated TEDS Files

The following are updates from SAMHDA:

New or updated files

The archival and online data analysis system (DAS) versions of the
1992-2002 Treatment Episode Data Set (TEDS) files have been updated with
the latest data extracts available. The updated files include
a new census-based geographic code CBSA (Core-Based Statistical Area);
codebooks have been updated to include related information regarding
modifications designed to ensure confidentiality protection.
SAS transport (XPORT) files, SPSS portable
files, and Stata system files, with SAS and Stata supplemental syntax
files have also been added. Updated TEDS concatenated file (1992-2003)
and Quick Tables will be available in the next couple of weeks.

Upcoming

Survey instruments for studies available from SAMHDA
will be centralized in a dedicated section of the web site, accessible from
the SAMHDA homepage.

Online codebooks are being produced for studies unavailable on the
online data analysis system (DAS). The codebooks will render these
studies available to the variable-level search feature.

Upcoming data releases and their approximate release dates include:

2004 National Survey of Substance Abuse Treatment Systems (N-SSATS), 
September/October 2005
2004 Monitoring the Future, October 2005

Ongoing

We appreciate the appropriate citation for analyses using data obtained
from SAMHDA. Each SAMHDA study description and codebook includes a
suggested bibliographic citation for the data. For more information on

We welcome the submission of citations for publications based on our data
holdings for our online citations database. Use the Web form on the
following page for submitting citations:

book chapters, etc. that are not yet published and we will track and add
them to the database once they are published. To access the citations
database, select the "related literature" link for a given study or series.
