Updates from the archive include:
(1) The Drug Abuse Treatment Outcome Study (DATOS) file on the online data
analysis system (DAS) now includes the time in treatment file. The archival
version of the file is expected to be released in the next few weeks. In
the meantime, the DAS may be used to subset and download the file. All
DATOS files are available from the following page:
http://www.icpsr.umich.edu:8080/SAMHDA-DISPLAY/02258.xml
(2) The DAS version of the 1994 Treatment Episode Data Set (TEDS) has been
updated with data from the March, 2003 extract and now includes 100% of all
records, additional variables such as number of substances reported,
intravenous drug use (IDU), and flags for any mention of specific
substances, and expanded values for certain variables such as all
originally collected codes for race and ethnicity. The new file replaces
the earlier version that contained a 25-percent sample of records. The
archival version of the file should be released within the next week. We
are in the process of completing similar updates for the 1992 and 1993
TEDS. After these updates are complete, the concatenated TEDS file will be
revised to include records for the 1992-2000 TEDS. All TEDS files are
available from the following page:
