** New releases:

The 2000 National Survey of Substance Abuse Services (NSSATS, formerly 
UFDS) has been released on the online data analysis (DAS) system and will 
be released on the archive within the next few days. The file on the DAS is 
available at: 
http://www.icpsr.umich.edu/cgi-bin/SDA12/hsda?samhda+nssats00. Once the 
file is released on the archive, it will be available under "download data" 
at: http://www.icpsr.umich.edu:8080/SERIES/00058.xml?format=SAMHDA.

** SAMHDA and ICPSR citations:

You may submit bibliographic citations for the ICPSR citations database by 
completing a simple form. From our homepage 
(http://www.icpsr.umich.edu/SAMHDA), click "Publications". The form is 
linked from the word "submission" in the second paragraph. Publications 
must be based on data in the SAMHDA or ICPSR holdings, and you will need to 
include the ICPSR study number on the form. The study number is provided at 
the top of our abstracts, on the codebook title page, and it is embedded in 
our filenames (for example, "da3314.gz" is the file name for the 1999 TEDS 
data file, study number 3314).

The citations database is continuously updated and is searchable by author, 
title, date, publisher, and publication type. It is also available from the 
"Publications" link on our homepage. The SAMHDA web site provides 
bibliographies based on the citations database for all of our holdings. 
These are static pages that are periodically updated. These are listed 
under the "Publications" link on our homepage and under the "Reports and 
Related Sites" links for each holding.

** Listserv:

We have updated the software we use for the listserv. Using the new 
software, you can elect to suspend your subscription (e.g., if you are on 
vacation or sabbatical) or unsubscribe. You will need a password if you 
want to use these options. Since you were previously subscribed to the 
listserv, the software can send you a generated password. Click on 
"Subscribe" on our homepage and then on "SAMHDA-Announcements". On the next 
screen, enter your email address under "Current Subscribers" and hit the 
"Edit Options" button. On the next screen, select "Email my password to 
me". The software will send you a generated password, which you can then 
change. If your email address changes, please remember to update your 
information for the listserv by unsubscribing your old address and 
subscribing your new one. Thank you.
