Hi Herve,

We have a DDI bug that requests an extension of ExternalAid (in
QuestionItem) to include two attributes @start and @stop both 0..1
type="xs:float"

The purpose of the added attributes is to indicate start and stop points
in audio, video, and multimedia aids where only a segment will be played
for the specified question or question part. We have agreed this is
needed but also think we will need additional information like the
measurement unit of the stop and start attributes.

Currently ExternalAid is type="r:OtherMaterial"
We are changing it to a complex type which is an extension of
r:OtherMatial by adding

 	attribute name="start" type="xs:float" minOccurs="0"
 	attribute name="stop" type="xs:float" minOccurs="0"
description: Use to indicate the internal start and stop point for
audio, visual, or multimedia materials. If an @start but no @stop is
provided this indicates a mid point start and running to the end of the
content. If an @stop but no @start is provided this indicates a start at
the beginning and running until the mid-point stop indicated. If these
attributes are not used the ExternalAid should be run in its entirety."

What else do with need in order to capture information needed to make this
operational?

Thanks for you help.
