Given the unavailability of a number of key members today's meeting 
focused on updating TIC on the work of the Controlled Vocabulary and 
discussion of key issues in preparing the upcoming workshop in Nairobi. 
Ken will be sending out (with cc to Mary) information on what controlled 
vocabularies should be coming out when. He will also be requesting time at 
the May Expert Committee meeting to review that work that has been done as 
well as provide a timeline for remaining work.

We discussed the cases where we would want a controlled vocuabulary for 
VariableGroup (common uses such as grouping of Variables related to 
specific subject and keyword). Some uses for VariableGroup are more 
internally focused (not something that needs to be used by a search system 
or access system in a consistant way..e.g. groups of variables used for 
specific analysis or related to a grouping of questions in a survey.

Requested improved documentation to clarify that variable group should NOT 
be used to group variables by Concept as this is handled by direct links 
from variable to Concept.

Also will need a more extensive description of AnalysisUnit as this can be 
misunderstood outside of survey research environment.

Development of Kenya workshop is progressing. The primary goal is to 
identify specific areas of focus for the workshop in tayloring it to the 
specific needs of this group.
