Hello,

I was recently looking at your "projects using the DDI" page, and
thought I would let you know about the projects we have developed which
make use of the DDI.

Firstly, we have developed queXML (Open Source):
http://quexml.sourceforge.net/

queXML is used to describe a questionnaire, and can produce a paper
based version of a questionnaire, and also can output in to other
formats such as for LimeSurvey (web survey software) or CASES using XML
stylesheets. We have made it easy for people to generate these outputs
by accessing the queXML tools page here:
https://dcarf.deakin.edu.au/quexmltools/ . Once a questionnaire is
described in queXML, it can then be used to create a basic DDI (version
2) file that will describe the questionnaire data, and make the process
of documenting a questionnaire a lot easier.

Secondly, we have developed queXF (Open Source):
http://quexf.sourceforge.net

queXF takes scanned in, completed paper based forms generated by queXML
and applies OMR (Optical Mark Recognition) to create a dataset. It
outputs the data in fixed width ASCII format with a DDI (Version 2)
description file.
