Mary,

As mentioned in an earlier email we anticipate a new version of DDI prior
to IASSIST. We have review the approx 45 bugs and while most are bugs or
minor non-invalidating changes, up to about a dozen are minor but would
invalidate earlier instances. In short, these would require a vote from
the Expert Committee. This would be a vote for minor change (2 weeks
review and a week for the vote). Note that none of these changes
introduces new functions but refine current functions. Invalidating
changes might include, 1) the removal of an attribute or element or
changing it to required, or 2) the addition of an attribute or element
that is required.

Our scheduling goal is to get this out for review between April 2-8 (note
this is a thurs-thurs week). In this way the vote could take place the
last week of April.

In publishing these changes for review we would provide information on how
to update current instances. It is our feeling that a number of these
invalidating changes will cause no problem as they are related to little
used features. However, we do intend to be clear as to the reason for the
change and the impact on the DDI user community.

Please let me know if you have questions regarding this proposed revision
schedule.

Wendy
