We discussed the DDI Booth at todays meeting and kicked around a number of
ideas. Thanks again Ron for the information sent earlier, it help a lot.
This is a synopsis of our discussion and hopefully provides us with
something to build on. Ron please correct any misstatements below:
1) The DDI Booth will be up during the full conference and be located near
the registration table and across from the Email machines.
2) We want something that is eye catching and has some level of
interaction. This will mean a computer and projection screen.
3) We're contemplating a slide set that has some intro and then ability to
pick a use case to view
4) Presentation will focus on use cases as a means of describing DDI 3.0
and what it can do for you
Survey design through dissemination
Use within a research project
Question Banks etc
Educational Packets
Comparison
5) Booth should be staffed during registration, breaks, lunch at a minimum
6) Staffing list should be set and published and option for signing up for
some time to discuss specific issues/cases
7) Involvement of UOG would be great! We would need to make sure everyone
involved is familier with presentation concents and individuals area of
expertise to assist in references to individuals
8) *side thought* might want to allow people to write questions or issues
that would be answered and posted online in some way
9) Print materials: list of staffing schedule, DDI brochure
10) Does UOG have additional materials they would want avialable? We know
the group was working on some use specific material
11) Alliance materials - what it is, joining, etc
12) Crib List of DDI presentations at IASSIST
Mary has also offered the DDI Display (I'm not sure if this is a set
content or what size it is). Can we get more details to see how we might
make good use of this.
Does this move to the Poster Session area? Is poster session period an
option for scheduling one-on-one discussions (some of us have other
sessions we need to staff).
So we'd like to nail down as much as we can as soon as we can. In
particular the who and what involvement of UOG. We are assuming Ron will
be running around like crazy and be unavailable. Who would be involved?
What print materials could be provided?
Hopefully this email can get us moving :)
