Wendy/Folks:
At Dagstuhl we discussed having one regular paper presented during IASSIST
to summarize our experiences from the TIC perspective during the Candidate
Release period, and to characterize new features and changes moving forward.
Given that IASSIST has earlier deadlines than ever before, I wanted to
propose the paper on our behalf. Here is a draft of the abstract I would
submit:
Title:
DDI 3.0: Final Revisions and Future Directions
Presenter(s):
Arofan Gregory, Wendy Thomas, other TIC members?
Abstract:
DDI 3.0 represented a major change from preceding versions of the standard,
and was subject to several rounds of internal and public review as it
developed. The last stage of review was a Candidate period of testing prior
to its final release, including application of the proposed standard to a
variety of different real-world data sets, and implementation of the
standard in software tools. This paper summarizes the experience of the DDI
Technical Implementation Committee during this final phase, highlighting the
use cases, software implementations, and needed adjustments, and describes
the anticipated future direction of the standard as it matures.
Cheers,
Arofan
