Wendy:
I think this looks fine. So far as I know, the people who should get this
(aside from the use case implementors) are only Jannick, his boss, and Chuck
Humphreys. There may be others in future - we'll need to check with Pascal
when he gets back.
Cheers,
Arofan

Subject: [DDI-SRG] Bug tracking notification
PLEASE READ AND RESPOND ASAP
Below are drafts of the two emails to be sent out to Use Case/Implementers
and to the Expert Committee/DDI Users. I have edited Pascal's Bug Tracker
Manual to reflect the decision to limit editing access to members of
TIC. I have noted that if they think the initial information entered in
the Bug Tracker needs to be edited, they should add a comment and the TIC
member assigned to the bug at that point will make the change.
Please look over the following email text and get any comments back to me
asap. I would like to send these out this weekend with a copy of the
manual this weekend or Monday at the latest. One other question. Should
the manual just go out to the implementers and then be sent to any
individuals who want view access rather than sending it out on the two
lists? Thanks wendy
FOR IMPLENTERS:
As use case implementers you will need access to the Bug Tracking system.
At least one person from each use case should request a log in to the
system. You can obtain a login by contacting Wendy Thomas wlt at pop.umn.edu
with your request. As an implementer you will be able to submit new bugs
and comment on any bug filed in the system. In order to make sure
discussion of each bug is captured, please use this system to record all
your comments and questions regarding a submitted bug.
The attached document provides instructions for accessing, entering, and
tracking the progress of bugs through the system. Please note that other
members of the Expert Committee and DDI User Group will be offered the
option of read-only access to the DDI Candidate Release Bug Tracker. In
addition, a bi-monthly summary progress and bug submissions will be sent
to these groups. Members of use case implementation teams will have a
choice of read-only or Report modes of access, however at least one member
of each use case implementation team must have Report access.
FOR EXPERT COMMITTEE/DDI USERS
The Technical Implementation Committee (formerly SRG) has established a
DDI Candidate Release Bug Tracker using Mantis Tracking software. This
system will be used to track bugs submitted by use case implementers. The
current set of use cases is available at
<http://opendatafoundation.org/ddi/3.0_use_cases.php>.
Note that new cases are still welcome. Instructions for submitting new use
cases are also found on this page. Only use case implementers can submit
bugs via the bug tracker. Comments or questions from outside this group
can be sent to Wendy Thomas wlt at pop.umn.edu. These additional comments are
being collected to inform further additions of documentation or
corrections noted outside of the use case process.
Bi-monthly summary progress reports will be sent to the DDI Alliance
Expert Committee and User Group. If you would like to obtain read-only
access to the bug tracking system, please contact Wendy Thomas for access.
