font-family:Arial'>As some of you know, in June I will be retiring from UC
Berkeley after 36 years. I had assumed that I would no longer be involved in
the DDI Alliance Expert Committee. I made my travel arrangements for IASSIST
2006 and did not include staying over the Saturday for the Expert Committee meeting.

font-family:Arial'>With the release of the Version 3.0 specifications I see
that there is no way I can let go of the DDI work. With this in mind, I
have talked with the Director of UC DATA who has agreed to let me continue
(post-retirement) to act as one of the UCB representatives to the <st1:City
w:st="on"><st1:place w:st="on">Alliance</st1:place></st1:City>. What remains
now is to work out how I will be involved. For now, I would like to continue
to be actively involved in a response to the new specifications. <o:p></o:p></span></font></p>

font-family:Arial'><o:p> </o:p></span></font></p>

the SRG suggestions for reviewing the specifications. Should we set up a
