Mary has asked that I help facilitate this group in the production of the conceptual models for the areas of the DDI 3.0 model concerning this group. Thus far, I have been working with the SRG group on the DDI 3.0 model. First, a little background about me. I have been working on XML and XML technologies for the past 6 years. Amongst other things, this work consisted of working on various standard initiatives. Most recently, I have been working with the SDMX initiative, developing tools, so I have a strong understanding of "cubed" data. If you haven't already, you should soon receive a distribution of the current model from the SRG. In preparations for the Edinburgh meetings, I would ask that you keep a few things in mind when reviewing the package; 1. Collect any thoughts you have on the cubed data models. What works in this model? What doesn't? 2. Are there any geography or time related components that are currently missing? 3. We will want to put together use cases to support any changes (keeping scenarios such as life cycle and continuing maintenance in mind). In the mean time, if you have any questions, don't hesitate to contact me. I look forward to meeting and working with everyone.
