This unit directs the training and educational activities of ICPSR, including the renowned Summer Training Program, to promote effective data use in research and instruction. ICPSR-sponsored training is conducted not only on the University of Michigan campus in Ann Arbor, but also in other venues around the country. The unit also guides initiatives related to instructional data use.
The two major activities of the unit are the Summer Program in Quantitative Methods of Social Research and Instructional Materials at ICPSR.
The goal of this initiative is to develop and disseminate resources for undergraduate and graduate education. Faculty submit data-based instructional materials that they have developed for their classes. These materials become part of ICPSR's instructional materials and may be obtained through membership in ICPSR.
