2007
Denise Munro Robb

Denise Munro Robb, Political Science, University of California - Irvine

"As an older student who has what I would call a "fear of math," I arrived (by car) in Ann Arbor with trepidation. I have long feared that it had been too many years since I had taken math classes, and that I was incapable of thriving in a statistics course.

ICPSR changed all that for me.Particularly with the help of Andres Martinez and his Intro to Stats Course (and the addition of Matrix Algebra taught by the engaging Pedro Sanchez and Regression II with Brian Pollins), I now feel ready to tackle some real data analysis.

I am so grateful to have won the Warren Miller Scholarship. It was one of the most important summers of my life."

2006
Mark ramirez

Mark Ramirez, Political Science, Texas A&M

"The Program and Miller Scholarship provided me with advanced training unavailable at my home institution. I enjoyed the multitude of courses, lectures, and workshops and an atmosphere that allowed me to attend sessions tailored to my research needs. Moreover, Warren Miller contributed so much to the social science community and my own research that it is an honor to be given an award named after him."

Mark ramirezEric Wilk, Political Science, SUNY Buffalo

"I really enjoyed the Summer Program. It exceeded my expectations. ICPSR provides the opportunity to explore areas that are particularly of interest given your field and your research in a much more in-depth manner."

2005
Tetsuya Matsubayashi, Texas A&M University
Jill Wittrock, University of Iowa

2004
Michael Hess, University of New Orleans
Linda Merola, Georgetown University
"I feel particularly grateful to those who have provided the funding for the Miller Scholarship. It would have been difficult for me to have attended the Summer Program in absence of the scholarship."

2003
Nil Satana, SUNY Buffalo
Dukhong Kim, Northwestern University
"The support from the Miller Scholarship fund allowed me to have this invaluable experience [participating in ICPSR programs] and contributed to enhancing my methodological skills."

2002
Keiko Ono, Georgetown University
"When I first participated in the ICPSR Summer Program in 1999, I liked it so much that I hoped to return one day. Given its costs and my financial constraints, the idea of repeating the Summer Program felt like an unattainable dream. The dream came true quite unexpectedly...thanks to the Warren Miller Scholars Fund."

2001
Christopher Lawrence, University of Mississippi
"[T]he scholarship and my participation in the ICPSR Summer Program have opened doors in terms of my academic career."
