David R. Williams
David R. Williams is the Florence and Laura Norman Professor of Public Health at the Harvard School of Public Health, Professor of African and African American Studies, and an Affiliate of the Sociology Department at Harvard University. David has held appointments at Yale University and the University of Michigan. David?s research focuses on the social influences on health, and especially the complex ways in which race, racial discrimination, socioeconomic status and religious involvement can affect physical and mental health. David has been involved in the development of health policy at the national level in the U.S. for a number of years, including with the Department of Health and Human Services and the Robert Woods Johnson Foundation, and the MacArthur Foundation.
