Shawna Smith is a PhD candidate in Sociology at Indiana University. Prior to IU, she received an MPhil in Sociology with distinction from Oxford University, under the auspices of a US-UK Fulbright Exchange Fellowship. Her research centers around the transnational and cross-national organization of ideation and culture, especially as it relates to forces of globalization, regulation and equality. As a corollary, she also does work on cross-national methodology, especially as it relates to group differences and measurement modeling. Her work has been published in the International Journal of Public Opinion Research, International Journal of Social Research Methodology, Archives of Sexual Behavior, American Behavioral Scientist, and the Annual Review of Political Science.
