Dr. Camilla Heid is a Senior Study Director at Westat, a national research firm located in Rockville, Maryland. She has more than 25 years of experience in survey, evaluation, and education policy research with an emphasis on disadvantaged children. She served as the Deputy Project Director for the Head Start Impact Study (HSIS) and is the Project Director for the Third Grade Follow-up to the Head Start Impact Study and the Tracking of Head Start Impact Study Participants Beyond 8th Grade. In addition, to the Head Start projects, Dr. Heid is the Project Director for the Implementation of Title I/II Program Initiatives, a study funded by the U.S. Department of Education. This study is designed to examine the implementation of policies promoted through the Elementary and Secondary Education Act (ESEA) at the state, district, school and teacher levels in four core areas: state content standards, assessments, accountability systems, and effective teachers and leaders. Dr. Heid has worked as a math teacher, assistant principal, university faculty member and administrator. She has an Ed.D. from Indiana University in Educational Leadership and Policy Studies.
