Michael Hawthorne is an Associate Professor of Public Administration and the chair of the Department of Public Administration at UNC Pembroke. His Ph.D. is from the University of Michigan. He currently teach courses in research methods, information technology and computing, administrative and policy processes, and economic development; he has also taught courses in legislative politics, the presidency, campaigns and elections, and other topics in American politics. His current research interests include economic development and technology policy, attitudes about public sector management, and policy-making processes.
