Mark Manning received his PhD from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst in 2009. His mentor was Icek Ajzen. Much of Mark's work is guided by Dr. Ajzen's theory of planned behavior. Mark's research interests generally focus on the impact of social influences/normative perceptions on behavior and behavioral decision-making. Mark is currently completing a postdoctoral fellowship at the Karmanos Cancer Institute in Detroit, MI. Among other interests, much of his current research aims to incorporate risk perceptions and normative perceptions into decision-making models in the context of cancer prevention behaviors (smoking cessation, screenings, etc).
