Lynn Addington is an associate professor of Justice, Law, and Society at American University in Washington, D.C. She earned her Ph.D. in criminal justice from the University at Albany, State University of New York, and her J.D. from the University of Pennsylvania Law School. Her research focuses on violent victimization as well as the measurement of crime and utilization of national crime statistics. Professor Addington is currently serving as a Visiting Fellow at the Bureau of Justice Statistics as part of its NCVS redesign project. She also has worked with the Bureau of the Census and the US Department of Education on their efforts to collect crime data.
