Changes to login screen to work better with proxy servers
In order to better serve users at institutions that make use of proxy servers, ICPSR has changed the login page in the following ways:
Google/Facebook options are hidden when a user accesses our site via a proxy server, as those options do not work in a proxy environment.
When a user access the ICPSR site via a proxy server, s/he is prompted to choose between breaking out of the proxy environment (to use Google/Facebook authentication) or to continue within the proxy environment (and login via MyData).
The MyData login is now more prominent on the page, so that users who wish to remain in the proxy environment don't have an additional click to log in.
We've written a brief FAQ for users who are new to proxy servers.
These changes will appear on the ICPSR Web site on July 23, 2013. If you have any questions, please contact email@example.com.
