How do the study search sort options work?
Most of our sort options are rather obvious, but a few necessitate further explanation:
Study Relevance - How well the study-level metadata matches your search query.
Title A-Z - Simple alphabetic search.
Released/Updated - The date on which ICPSR first released the dataset (or updated it). This sort is really only useful for looking at what's new from ICPSR.
Time Period - The dates on which the study was undertaken. This date is generally more useful to researchers and is usually included in the study title.
Most Cited in ICPSR Bib. - Count of citations associated with the study and/or the series.
Variable Relevance - How well the study-level metadata matches your search query, as well as how well the variable-level metadata matches your query terms. Use commas to distinguish variables/concepts.
For example: gender, race, drug use
