Michael Shove manages all aspects of the data production process in the General Archive. This includes acquisitions, support for depositors, data curation planning and implementation, user support, technical outreach and support, and a focus on leading a team of data managers in the processing of both new and updated data collections. The goal of the General Archive is to provide the ICPSR membership with high-quality data products that will serve the needs of their varied academic constituents who utilize data for research.
Mr. Shove has supervised social science research data processing and preparation for well over 20 years. He been with ICPSR since 2000, working on various projects including post-collection data management support for the National Survey of Family Growth, and identifying and developing solutions for inconsistencies found during data cleaning and processing. Mr. Shove holds a bachelor's degree in sociology and a master's from the Program in Applied Sociology and Policy Studies, both from Wayne State University.
