National Addiction & HIV Data Archive Program
Data Access
Most of the datasets in the NAHDAP archive are raw data from surveys, interviews, and administrative records. NAHDAP preserves the data and in addition creates a full product suite with accompanying documentation and online tools to facilitate secondary analysis by our users.
MyData
To gain access, users must login using their Google or Facebook account (or create a MyData account). The system generates a more secure environment and provides the following features:
- Employs an email address as a login ID
- Requires a password to authenticate to the Web site
- Allows users to create an account and set preferences
- Allows registered users to reset a forgotten password
- Enables users to view prior download history
- Enables users to subscribe to an update notification service that emails users when a study they've previously downloaded is substantially updated
Documentation
All of the documentation files associated with NAHDAP datasets are available to the general public. This documentation includes the study metadata--that is, the data describing the study. However, not all of the datasets themselves are freely available.
Data for NAHDAP members
While some of the data are publicly available, most are available only to persons at ICPSR member institutions external link. If you are at a member institution, you will be able to download these datasets; if you are not, you may only download documentation files for that study. For information on how to become a member, please see How to join ICPSR or Nonmember Access to Data.
