Publications and Promotional Materials

ICPSR publishes several regular publications for its members as well as a variety of materials to educate students and faculty about its services. It also maintains email lists with information about ICPSR services and programs.

Publications

Annual Report The 2010-2011 version features ICPSR's new initiatives, highlights of the year, and a financial summary. Version for printing (PDF 1.2MB). Previous annual reports are also available to ICPSR members.

ICPSR Bulletin A report on research, data science, and developments at ICPSR, published three times a year on the Web. Read the most recent issue (PDF 2.2 MB). Browse past issues (to 1976). A Special Edition (PDF 2MB) contains the winning essays in the 2011 undergraduate research competition.

ICPSR DataBytes An electronic newsletter containing timely announcements and updates on ICPSR and its sponsored projects, delivered to subscribed members of icpsr-announce and published four times a year.

Guide to Social Science Data Preparation and Archiving: Best Practice Throughout the Data Life Cycle, 5th Edition The fifth edition retains many of the key concepts from the previous editions and has updated information related to data management plans, video files, respondent disclosure protection, and virtual data enclaves. The Guide is also available in Japanese translation through the University of Tokyo, Institute of Social Sciences, Social Sciences Japan Data Archive.

Official Representative Handbook A thorough orientation to ICPSR services for the Official Representatives of member institutions.
