Use of Restricted HMCA Data
This site offers instructions and forms needed for researchers interested in obtaining restricted HMCA data. These data are distributed by the Inter-university Consortium for Political and Social Research (ICPSR), which serves as an agent for the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation.
To apply for restricted data from ICPSR 3025, 4165, or 2935, select the survey for which you need forms:
- National Survey of Alcohol, Drug, and Mental Health Problems [Healthcare for Communities], 1997-1998 (ICPSR 3025)
- National Survey of Alcohol, Drug, and Mental Health Problems [Healthcare for Communities], 2000-2001 (ICPSR 4165)
- Robert Wood Johnson Foundation Employer Health Insurance Survey [Community Tracking Study and State Initiatives in Health Care Reform Program], 1997 (ICPSR 2935)
To apply for restricted data for HMCA studies not listed above, go to the study downloads page and click the link under Access Notes.
HMCA is changing the submission process for obtaining restricted data, moving from one that is paper based to one that is Web-based. During the transition, both methods will be in use. Some studies will use the old process while others will use the new.
