Produced by SAMHSA's Drug and Alcohol Services Information System, N-SSATS is conducted annually and is designed to collect information from public and private facilities that provide substance abuse treatment in the United States. N-SSATS data include information on treatment services and modalities, facility operations and ownership, accreditation, and client counts. The geographic data included in N-SSATS are state, county, Federal Information Processing Standards (FIPS) state and county codes, metropolitan statistical area (MSA), core-based statistical area (CBSA), census region, and census division.
