2010 National Survey of Substance Abuse Treatment Services (N-SSATS) Released

The 2010 National Survey of Substance Abuse Treatment Services (N-SSATS) data and documentation files have been released for download and online analysis by the Center for Behavioral Health Statistics and Quality (CBHSQ, formerly Office of Applied Studies), Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA).

N-SSATS is conducted annually and designed to collect data on the location, characteristics, services offered, and number of clients in treatment at alcohol and drug abuse facilities (both public and private) throughout the 50 States, the District of Columbia, and other U.S. jurisdictions. The geographic data included in N-SSATS are state, county, Federal Information Processing Standards (FIPS) state and county codes, metropolitan statistical area (MSA), core-based statistical area (CBSA), Census region, and Census division.
