Summary: These data were originally collected as part of a study of the electoral process in the South conducted by the Bureau of Public Administration at the University of Alabama. The collection contains county-level electoral returns for selected general and primary elections in 11 southern states (Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, and Virginia) for the period 1920-1949.
