Summary: This survey was undertaken to assess consumer sentiment and buying plans, as well as hidden unemployment among males aged 16-21, the extent to which youths continued their education, joined the armed forces, or took part-time work when they could not find full-time jobs, the cost and perceived importance and meaning of college education for males and females, and the perceived relative merits of state and private universities.
