OMHMDE: SAW/TALK TO OTHER MENTAL HEALTH PROF ABOUT MDE -PY

The following variable, OMHMDE, indicates whether a person
saw or talked to a mental health professional, such as a
mental health nurse or other therapist where type not
specified, in the past year for MDE.

A respondent was classified as having seen or talked to
other mental health professional about MDE during the past
year (OMHMDE=1)if they met either of these conditions:
(1) Reported seeing or talking to a medical doctor
or other professional during the past year
(ADOTHMHP =1 or YOOTHMHP=1,3).
(2) Response entered for whether other mental
health professional was seen or talked to during
the past year.

A respondent was classified as NOT having seen or talked to
other mental health professional about MDE during the past
year (OMHMDE=0)if they met either of these conditions:
(1) Reported NOT seeing or talking to a medical doctor
or other professional during the past year
(ADSEEDOC=2 or YOSEEDOC=2).
(2) Response not entered for whether other mental
health professional was seen or talked to during
the past year (ADOTHMHP=6 or YOOTHMHP=6).
