NACJD to exhibit at the International Association of Crime Analysts Training ConferenceThe International Association of Crime Analysts has partnered with the National Institute of Justice to host the annual training conference from September 9 to September 13, 2013 in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
This year's conference topics will cover tactical and strategic analysis, and problem analysis, and feature hands-on computer labs. Specialty topics such as social media, telephone toll analysis, and case studies will also be included.
NACJD will exhibit its free GIS-related data and resources and will be available to demonstrate these resources to law enforcement analysts, crime analysts, statisticians, and police officers. Available materials include:
- CrimeStat (www.icpsr.umich.edu/CrimeStat), a spatial statistics program for the analysis of crime incident locations
- School Crime Operations Package (School COP) (www.schoolcopsoftware.com), a software application for entering, analyzing, and mapping incidents that occur in and around schools
- CrimeMap Tutorial (www.icpsr.umich.edu/NACJD/cmtutorial.jsp), a tutorial designed for self-paced instruction that enables students to learn crime mapping using their own computer
