This data collection focuses on recidivism among persons convicted for driving while intoxicated. It contains information about the charging and sentencing of drunk driving offenders and repeat offenders. Variables include charge, conviction, sentence, number of alcohol and non-alcohol related violations, subsequent action, sex, age, and date of sentencing.

Universe: All persons convicted of driving while intoxicated in the State of Minnesota.
Data Types: event/transaction data, survey data
Sample: Defendants were selected on the basis of those convicted and sentenced to serve time in the county jail and those convicted and sentenced to probation or fine.

- 2005-11-04 On 2005-03-14 new files were added to one or more datasets. These files included additional setup files as well as one or more of the following: SAS program, SAS transport, SPSS portable, and Stata system files. The metadata record was revised 2005-11-04 to reflect these additions.
- 2004-11-24 The data were converted from Card Image to Logical Record Length format, SAS and SPSS data definition statements were added, and the codebook was updated.
