Obtaining NSHAP Wave 2 DataObtaining WAVE 2 of the National Social Life, Health, and Aging Project (NSHAP) BETA.
The beta release of NSHAP WAVE 2 is now available for interested researchers. This release represents initially processed Wave 2 data for preliminary analysis. The full documentation and a variety of data enhancements are being prepared at NACDA and we expect a full release during the 2013 year.
Obtaining NSHAP WAVE 2 Data.
If you have an existing NSHAP Data Use Agreement for Wave 1 and your affiliation, data security plan, and IRB approval remain unchanged then the researcher only needs to sign the Wave 2 Data Use Agreement and send it to NACDA. We will send the Wave 2 data to you.
If you do not have an existing NSHAP Data Use Agreement for Wave 1 then the researcher will need to obtain IRB approval from their institution, provide a data security plan and send a signed Data Use Agreement for Wave 2. The Wave 1 data for NSHAP can be obtained at the same time by filling out the Data Use Agreement for Wave 1.
*Link to the Wave 1 DUA and email address for the Wave 2 DUA are listed below.
As this represents early release data we encourage you to contact us if you find any issues with the data. The most efficient way to do this is to email the NACDA Director, James McNally directly at email@example.com but also to cc: the NACDA Project Manager Martha Sayre at firstname.lastname@example.org. This will allow us to address any problems in the data and to see if there are any consistent concerns that can be addressed in the formal release.
Once you are a registered user of Wave 2 data you will automatically be resupplied with the formal release when it is ready for distribution.
Thank you for your interest in NSHAP.
Dr. James W McNally
