Summary View help for Summary
This longitudinal panel study of voluntary associations consists of two waves of data collected in 1983 and 1989 for the purpose of examining physical and demographic characteristics of members of 314 voluntary association groups. These individuals were selected from a multistage probability sample of voluntary associations in ten towns in the state of Nebraska. The groups represented include fraternal and sororal organizations. Data collected from individual members were aggregated, making organizations the unit of analysis. Information provided on organizations includes the organization code, town that the organization is in, mean age of its members, attendance, and membership duration. Demographic variables cover age, education, and sex.
