Summary

This dataset contains a systematically selected subsample of 200 of the 4,815 persons who were interviewed for the 1970 Swedish Election Study, a survey which queried Swedes about their political attitudes, preferences and behavior.

Data Collection Notes

  1. Variables in this subsample differ somewhat from those in the original dataset: variables 3, 15, 165, 182, 183, 197, 198, 209, 210, 218, 219 have been excluded and variables 22-24, 180, 181, 186-189, 195, 196, 207, 208, 216 and 217 have been recoded to fewer categories than in the original version of the survey data. Though a machine-readable codebook for the original complete dataset is available from ICPSR, access to the original dataset is possible only through the Swedish Social Science Data Service, Goeteborg University, Box 5048, S-402 21 Goeteborg, Sweden. Machine-readable documentation is in Swedish.
