The major objective of this survey was to collect data that would then be used by the Ministry of Finance as part of a larger fiscal reform project. Interview items included standard demographic variables such as age and sex of family members, education of head of household, and occupation and earnings of all earners. Also included were house value, number of bedrooms, land ownership and property value, rental income, income and/or savings from fishing, gardening, sewing, ownership of and income from livestock, monthly food costs, self-employment, money or help received or given, savings plans, and whether last year was better or worse economically than the previous year.
