Summary:
Gross in- and out-migration statisitcs are provided in this file for each county (or county equivalent) in the United States. Migrant data are stratified by age, race, and sex. Included for each race/sex/age group are data on college attendance, military status, group quarters status, residence abroad in 1975, and total population. Data on country of birth are listed for race/sex strata.

Data Collection Notes:
The in- and out-migration data for each county are presented in the form of two "tables." Table 1 contains 48 cells of seven characters each, and Table 2 contains 1,296 cells of six characters each.
Methodology
Sample: Migration data were derived from information on residence in 1975 and 1980 provided on the 1980 Census questionnaire. Population and residence data for 1975 are based on approximately one-half of the full census sample.
