Summary: The purpose of this survey, conducted in the spring of 1976 with a national sample of the American work force, was to estimate the impact of the experience of unemployment on social and political attitudes and political behavior. Class consciousness and attitudes toward "the American dream" were of particular interest. A total of 779 working and 566 unemployed respondents were surveyed. (more info)
