Summary: This study was conducted in 1966 in the Netherlands among a sample of the adult population. Respondents' attitudes toward freedom of political expression, views on the social welfare laws, and opinions about political alienation, political parties, and the party system were elicited. The respondents were also asked about the power structure in society, with specific references to the royal family, religion, and politics. Additional questions referred to members of parliament, the role of women, and politics in the mass media. Demographic data include sex, age, level of education, subscriptions to print media, marital status, party affiliation, religion, and church membership.
