Scope of Study
Geographic Coverage: United States
Date of Collection:
Data Types: survey data
Data Collection Notes:
(1) While questionnaires for three separate samples -- 1,146 students, 3,594 adults, and 948 federal employees -- are included in this study's documentation, data are provided only for the student sample. (2) ICPSR has assigned column locations, variable names, and variable labels according to the available documentation. Value labels and missing value designations, while listed in the documentation, have not been assigned to the data due to concern that they don't match the full range of values present in the dataset.
Sample: 1,146 students in the period 1960-1961.
Original ICPSR Release: 1984-05-03
- 2006-06-08 ICPSR created SAS, SPSS, and Stata setup files, a SAS transport (XPORT) file, an SPSS portable file, and a Stata system file containing variable locations and variable labels from the hard-copy documentation in ICPSR's archives. Original codebooks and ICPSR internal processing notations have been scanned and included with the release. No machine-readable codebook was included with the original data file release.
