Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation Data on Banks in the United States, 1920-1936 (ICPSR 7)
This data collection contains information on banks in the United States in the period 1920-1936. Information is provided by county and in thousands of United States dollars on the total annual deposits in all banks, deposits in national and state banks, number of banks suspended, and number of national and state banks active in the period.

Scope of Study
Geographic Coverage: United States
The data map is provided as an ASCII text file, and the codebook is provided by ICPSR as a Portable Document Format (PDF) file. The PDF file format was developed by Adobe Systems Incorporated and can be accessed using PDF reader software, such as the Adobe Acrobat Reader. Extent of Processing: ICPSR data undergo a confidentiality review and are altered when necessary to limit the risk of disclosure. ICPSR also routinely creates ready-to-go data files along with setups in the major statistical software formats as well as standard codebooks to accompany the data.
