Data-Driven Learning Guides are a collection of instructional exercises that can be used to enhance teaching of core concepts in the social sciences. This learning guide explores whether the realities of women's lives in the 1950s match the idealized view of that time period we have today. Research questions that can be explored using this learning guide include: what percentage of married women worked outside the home in the 1950s and why, how prevalent divorce was in the 1950s and whether it was increasing. Crosstabulation and comparison of means are used for the analyses.
