Attitudes About Global Warming in the United States: A Data-Driven Learning Guide (ICPSR 359)

Principal Investigator(s):

Summary:

Data-Driven Learning Guides are a collection of instructional exercises that can be used to enhance teaching of core concepts in the social sciences. This learning guide investigates some of the factors that might be associated with an individual's level of concern about the environment and global warming. Research questions that can be explored using this learning guide include: what factors are associated with the level of concern that americans have about the current and future condition of the environment, do men and women differ in their level of concern about the environment, do people with more education tend to be more concerned about global warming, and do people with higher levels of trust in scientists exhibit more concern about the environment. Crosstabulations, frequency distributions, and bar charts are used for the analyses.
