Summary View help for Summary
This data collection consists of a cumulative file of the Politbarometer surveys of 1990, which queried citizens of West Germany. Though questions concerning parties and politicians are identical for each Politbarometer, some questions targeting political opinions vary with each survey administration. Data cover party preference, recent voting behavior, self-placement on a left-right political continuum, opinions about politicians, attitudes toward German unification and the potential consequences of East Germans moving to the Federal Republic (Uebersiedler), opinions about the necessity for a new constitution, preferred election date for the new government, fear of losing one's job, influence of survey results on an individual's voting record and on political attitudes, military intervention in the Persian Gulf region, and religiosity.
